History for Sale

The Museum is selling some interesting and rare historical items for use as mementos, gifts, or decorations. In new condition, they make excellent birthday, Father’s or Mother’s Day, Christmas, or ???? presents. You can even buy one for yourself. Some you can’t get anywhere else, the rest are priced below what you would find similar items for elsewhere, so you get a good deal as well. $15.00 each, including tax.

Original Martin Company aircraft engineering drawings: These original linen and vellum pen and ink drawings are of miscellaneous components used in the manufacture of the Martin 202 and 404 airliners and the Martin B-57 bombers. The 19”x25” drawings carry dates in the 40s and 50s. They make exquisite graphics when framed as they represent a lost art form in this day of computer generated everything.

Flight data computers: These unused 8” diameter circular slide rule manual computers are in original boxes, most stamped with WWII dates. They were part of the personal flight gear of pilots and co-pilots, flight engineers, and navigators in all the services. We have two types available: one calculates true altitude, the other true airspeed, as a function of pressure, temperature, etc. Instructions are printed on each computer.

Landing gear position indicators: These unused 3 ½ inch diameter cockpit instruments were used in Navy versions of the Martin B-26 Marauder and North American B-25 Mitchell bombers, and the Grumman F-7F Tigercat fighter.

These items can be bought at the museum or ordered by mail. There is a $5.00 shipping charge.
