Martin MB-1 and MB-2 Bombers
Variants/Specifications

During the early months of American participation in World War I, the military turned to more advanced European designs for its new warplanes. Martin managed to break the pattern in January 1918 with an order for an all-American bomber, the MB-1.

In June, 1920, the Army ordered twenty of an improved version, the Model MB-2. This was the order that made the MB series famous: the planes were rushed to completion in time for bombing tests the next year against captured German warships.
