The Glenn L. Martin Papers
The Glenn L. Martin Papers is a collection of
neatly catalogued material presented in
1959 to the Library of Congress in Washington,
DC, by Della Martin (d. 1974), Glenn's sister.
There are 199 containers containing a multitude
of personal and business correspondence
between the years 1910-1955. Included are
3,000 manuscripts concerning the University
of Maryland, 13,000 papers relating to the
Glenn L. Martin Company, a large group of
scrapbooks which cover the life of Martin
from 1910-1944, and 17 boxes of Martin's
personal photos (sent to the Prints and
Photographs Division in January, 1962).
The
collection is currently in the Madison Building,
Manuscript Division, 1st floor, with the
exception of the photo collection, which
resides in the Prints and Photographs Division,
3rd floor.
